Yes, I'll be gone for pretty much the rest of July.
My family are taking a vacation down to California starting the 10th, and will be down there for 2 weeks before we start a slow road trip back that may take an additional week.
The majority of the trip is going to be spent hanging out at the cabin down there, which has been the family's for who knows how long. It's going to be my great Grandmother's 100th Birthday and pretty much anyone who can afford the trip will be down there. Surprisingly there are quite a few parts of my family that won't be able to come... that will be strange, since they are usually the ones I hang out the most with.
Well, I still have my more distant cousins Dan and Tom. Tom is an artist too, who is actually part of a studio down there in California. His dA is
tomikari though his stuff there is years old. If you look around actually, you'll discover that he and his brother Dan were responsible for the recent explosion of those Calvin and Hobbes as adults stuff. Heck, they got themselves in a news article about it.
Going to the cabin down in California will be amazing too. there's an awesome river for tubing right next to it. and years and years back, possibly before I was born, though I don't know, some of my great uncles made a sort of dam in part of the river, creating a nice deep pool to swim around in (there is still a bit of pull from the river though). It'll be interesting going down there now though, since we usually go down in August, after the river has lowered a bit.
Besides the river next to the cabin, there is another great river to go to. But for another reason, and it's a bit of a hike. Not only a hike to the river itself, but up the river as well. There are several different spots along the river to stop and have fun. including a few spots where you can actually slide down the smooth rock formations in the river's falls, like nature's water slides. Or this one small area with deep pool, and a 15 ft rock to jump off of.
As I mentioned before, we will be taking a slow trip back. Yes we will be rushing to get to the cabin, but after we leave we're just gunna take it slow and visit a few spots. We're still trying to figure out what we're gunna go see. We'll be going from California to Washington state, and will have little worry about taking a straight course, as long as it's not too out of the way. As far as I know what's on the agenda, is the Winchester house, and a few caves.
I'll leave this as a topic for commenting, Do you know any good spots that should be on our road trip?
